BOUT OF BAD LUCK A bout of bad luck A few mistakes And the consequences From this place, I must leave Never return By the lake The pretty houses with the picket fences I lit em up, started the fire And watched them burn Times were tough I watched my father lose his job again Not his fault Not enough work for so many men Just more bad news The factory laid off another ten Ten more sent blindly to the lion’s den And I was young, but I thought I was old And I didn’t know better I tell you I tried to carry my weight And stand up to the weather I went looking for work despite my age Across the railroad tracks To where the people with the money lived by the lake Said I’d work for food, I’d do whatever it takes A bout of bad luck A few mistakes And the consequences From this place, I must leave Never return By the lake The pretty houses with the picket fences I lit em up, started the fire And watched them burn INSTRUMENTAL Well some of them laughed Some ignored my existence Some of the scowled Some lashed out at my persistence But from them all the attitude it was consistent They were cold, uncompassionate and resistant In their perfect world They don’t have time for the lower class man They are appalled saying “It’s a shame we have to share the land” But they don’t know They don’t care And they don’t understand me or my family Cause a perfect world ain’t what we see A bout of bad luck A few mistakes And the consequences From this place, I must leave Never return By the lake The pretty houses with the picket fences I lit em up, started the fire And watched them burn, burn, burn Let em burn x 3 I lit em up, started the fire And watched them burn

WHAT IS LEFT WITHIN words and music by Blake Andison Uneasy on this eve of destruction Knowin this is the last night alive You’re smiling but I see death in your eye Cause upon the dawn we’re all gonna die (CHORUS) So help me figure out What is left within Help me see the rose Help me when the rains set in I figured it out And all those silly worries And all those silly fears They don’t mean a thing to me anymore Now that I am here And in this time of peril Heroes will arise No one will be watchin But faith is in their eyes (CHORUS) So help me figure out What is left within Help me see the rose Help me when the rains set in I figured it out (BRIDGE) I’m dyin, I figured it out, I’m dyin, I figured it out, I’m dyin, Oh this is what’s been chosen I figured it out (INSTRUMENTAL with Aaaahs) (CHORUS) So help me figure out What is left within Help me see the rose Help me when the rains set in I figured it out

TIME TO RISE UP I’m serving it up This tune that I’m holdin’ This rhythm inside of me Is now explodin’ It’s heating me up I’m hot from the inside And I’ve got this feeling I can’t hide I’m lying it down And I’ve got this notion That this motion around’s like an ocean of sound And I’m drownin’ deep in the night And the beginning is far outta sight And all of this time that it’s taken Is leaving me stranded here lost and forsaken But this Foundation is soon to be shaken This slumbering giant is soon to awaken It’s time to rise up and take what is ours And finally forgive for the fall of the towers It’s time to move on and straight rise like the sun Cause the dawn of our destiny’s only begun (INSTRUMENTAL) This is the calm Before the storm It’s time to come out now from where we were born Cause we have no choice The time is now We must raise our voice without worrying how Cause all of this time That it’s taken Has left us stranded here lost and forsaken But this foundation is soon to be shaken This slumbering giant is soon to awaken

RAGIN RAPID RIVER Ridin down this river lord Must I keep on fightin’ Ridin down this river lord Takin me out west Gone to find my freedom Gone to find salvation Find somewhere to lay my head you know Find somewhere to rest (CHORUS) Need somewhere to call my own Until then I’m ridin on the breeze Lord help me to find my way Have mercy on me please Day and night I’ll keep on goin Ragin rapid river rollin The enemy’s not far behind Sleep with one eye open To leave the enemy far behind This is what I’m hopin Without a home for way too long This world’s tough but it made me strong Strong enough to sing my song And sleep with one eye open (CHORUS) Need somewhere to call my own Until then I’m ridin on the breeze Lord help me to find my way Have mercy on me please Day and night I’ll keep on goin Ragin rapid river rollin (BRIDGE) Ooaahh’s (OUTRO) Day and night I’ll keep on goin Ragin rapid river rollin x3 Roll on, roll on, roll on and on and on…

STRANGER IN YOUR EYES I’m Sorry that it’s over But our hearts never beat as one We thought we were in love But we were just two kids having fun Yet I’m used to your warm body Cuddled up next to mine But I must separate love from comfort And get over you in time Cause I’m sick of your sense of humour And you’re tired of my lullabies And when we face each other I look and see a stranger in your eyes (INSTRUMENTAL) I never wanted to hurt you And I wish you all the best I’m not trying to desert you I just got this load that I’ve got to get off of my chest Cause you gotta write your own story And cause I don’t know who you are We gotta go our own direction ..but… We’ve got a long way Cause we got in way too far x 3

Blake Andison and The Solution Victoria, British Columbia

Brought up a hockey player, Blake picked up music back in 2002.

Nowadays, Blake's back stronger than ever after a two year layoff, with more songs, better presentation and some of the most dynamic musicians in Victoria backing him up. The summer of 2011 has been extremely busy for this band as they work hard to establish their new name and sound in and around Victoria... ... more
